Daryna is a practicing lawyer, attorney-at-law, and researcher.
Throughout her professional career, she has successfully completed numerous projects in collaboration with Ukrainian and international clients. During her legal practice, she has frequently represented clients in International Commercial Arbitration, as well as in processes for recognition and enforcement of decisions of International Commercial Arbitration.
Daryna is a speaker at the Higher School of Advocacy where she teaches her personal author courses: “Specifics of Compensation for Damage Caused by War”, “Force Majeure in Times of Martial Law”, and “Topical Issues of Lost Profit Compensation”.
In 2020, she defended her dissertation on the topic “Civil Liability of the State for Damage Caused to Private Individuals” at the Department of Civil Law of the Law Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and obtained the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Law. After defending her dissertation, she continues her scientific and teaching activities at the Department of Civil Law of the Educational and Scientific Law Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where she teaches the course “Civil Law”. She is the author of over 20 scientific works in national and international publishers, including a monograph.
An expert in the field of compensation for damage caused by war, Daryna is also a participant in the “We are from Ukraine” project, where Ukrainian human rights defenders assist individuals affected by the actions of the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine and appealed to the European Court of Human Rights with applications for compensation for the damage caused.
She also participates in European projects for Ukrainian scholars, developing legislative initiatives necessary for bringing Ukrainian legislation in line with European Union requirements.
Daryna firmly believes that being a human rights defender is not just a profession but a calling, and the most important aspect of every project is conducting work based on principles of honesty and integrity.
